Details: Hacienda Orgullo has thirty-two 1-bedroom, unfurnished apartments, all of which a wheel chair can enter and navigate, and four of which are designated wheel chair accessible apartments. All apartments have electric ranges, refrigerators, air conditioning, ceiling fans and fenced front yards. The grounds are nicely landscaped with trees, shrubs and grass. The complex sits on a bluff above the beautiful Rio Grande river with a view of the majestic Caballo mountains. A full-time maintenance staff takes care of the apartments and grounds maintaining a high standard of excellence. There are laundry facilities, a soda machine and community center, where you will find books, puzzles, cards and games and a television with a VCR. Bingo games are held twice weekly. Lunch is provided on site by the Sierra Joint Office on Aging on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The complex is located approximately two miles from downtown Truth or Consequences, where you will find churches, banks, beauty shops, barbers, restaurants, movie rentals, post office, groceries, drug store, shops, lawyers and hot mineral bath houses. Also nearby are the Community Theatre, Retired Senior Volunteer Program (foster grandparent, senior companion and food share), Senior Citizens Program (meal site, home care services and home delivered meals), Senior Joint Office on Aging, City Library, bowling center and the Municipal Golf Course. Approximately five miles away is Elephant Butte Lake State Park, a great spot for picnicking, camping, fishing, swimming, jet skiing, and boating fun.
