Details: All apartments in Tucker House offer Section 8 rent subsidy. Residents pay 30% of their Adjusted Gross Income for rent. Utilities, other than cable TV and telephone, are included in the rent. Tucker House offers no nursing care. Each apartment is equipped with a pull cord to summon help in an emergency. Effective May 1, 2020, the facility will be “smoke free.” Smoking will not be allowed in the building or within 25 feet of any entrance. The facility has both one bedroom and efficiency apartments. 14 of the apartments are designed with special kitchens and bathrooms to meet the needs of residents in wheel chairs. The building has three elevators, two laundry rooms, two libraries, and a computer café. All apartments have kitchens equipped with a range, range hood, and refrigerator. Residents are responsible for their own meals. Emphasis has been placed on the safety and security of all residents. Exterior doors are alarmed to alert residents and staff of unauthorized entry. There is video monitoring in high traffic areas of the building. The lobby doors are monitored during normal business hours. There is also an on-site night manager to provide emergency coverage at nights and on weekends. Tucker House has extensive community space available to all residents. All three floors have lounge areas. There is a multi-purpose room, a chapel, and a glassed in Veranda on the first floor. In addition, there is a secure courtyard, allowing residents to get fresh air in a safe environment.

Only one four-legged, warm blooded pet is permitted per apartment. No more than two birds or small caged animals per apartment. No limited is placed on the number of fish, but the size of the fish tank may not exceed ten (10) gallons. Each dog or cat owner is required to provide a pet security deposit in the amount of $300.00 in addition to the standard apartment security deposit. The owner may pay this all at one time or may pay an initial deposit of $50.00 with the remainder to be paid in monthly installments of at least $10.00. The pet deposit will be used to repair or replace elements of the apartment that are damaged by the pet. No pet shall weigh more than 25 pounds at the time of maturity and stand no more than 18 inches at the shoulders.
