Using the housing-first approach, Housing Connect places persons who have been living on the street or in shelters for one year or longer, or four times in the past three years, into housing subsidized with government funding. Tenants of Grace Mary Manor are required to pay 30% of their income toward rent, with rental subsidy covering the remainder. 30 units are subsidized through Salt Lake County Continuum of Care and 50 are subsidized with HCV Project Based Vouchers. Grace Mary Manor helps bridge the gap in affordable housing for homeless men and women in Salt Lake County by providing housing, rental subsidies, and on-site services to help ensure successful tenancy for residents. By placing individuals into Permanent Supportive Housing, Grace Mary Manor prolongs and improves the quality of life for homeless men and women in Salt Lake County.
