Details: The Apple Blossom Apartments are located in the town of Cheektowaga, New York. Each one- and two-bedroom apartment feature: a fully equipped kitchen with a range, refrigerator and microwave; a wall-mounted flat screen TV with cable available; separate storage area. Heat, air conditioning, hot water and electric are included in the rent and on-site laundry facilities are available at no cost to the tenant. There is also off-street parking. Tenants have access to a community room, lounges, and a computer lab. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in common areas of the buildings. The buildings are 100 percent smoke free. There are designated smoking areas outdoors. There are three separate buildings with a total of 110 units centrally located in a residential area in close proximity to many local amenities such as grocery shopping, schools, places of worship, medical care, banks, libraries, government agencies and general shopping. Building B features 40 units with enhanced supports to accommodate tenants who may be Deaf. This includes state-of-the-art communication equipment and high-contrast visual design, as well as the following: Open floor plans with handrails; Lighting for high visibility; Adaptive equipment; Bedrooms wired to allow for vibrating alarmed beds in case of fire or other emergencies; Hard-wired strobe lighting for CO2 and fire alarms; Lighted door alarms; Signage with Braille markings; On-site staff fluent in ASL; Multiple levels of barrier-free community space. On-site services are available for 60 tenants. Housing Specialists teach skills and assist tenants in linking to community services. There are 28 units with ADA accessibility and 45 units with hearing and vision accessibility (HVA) throughout the campus. One building is designed with enhanced supports throughout to accommodate tenants who may be Deaf. Each DePaul Properties, Inc. community has a no pet policy in place. However, service animals are accepted at all DePaul Properties, Inc. communities. All utilities are included in the monthly rent. A security deposit equal to one month’s rent is required at the lease signing and the applicant must meet the eligibility requirements of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program. Income and occupancy requirements apply.
