The Lee is home to a mix of homeless adults with special needs (HIV/AIDS, chronic mental illness), low-income workers, many of whom are from the community, and 55 young adults who were at high risk of homelessness at the time they aged out of the foster care system. Many tenants make use of extensive bike storage in the courtyard, riding to the store, to the subway, or in neighboring Hamilton Fish Park, and blending in with the long-time locals, immigrant newcomers and trendy hipsters who make the neighborhood what it is today. Residents: 104 formerly homeless single adults, many with special needs, 103 low-income working adults from the Lower East Side, 55 Foyer youth.
