Details: The Homestead Senior Apartments has provided the opportunity to reinvent a once blighted site as a viable and affordable senior community. The project consists of the entire site where the abandoned Grand Street School once stood. Our vision for this will include 77 affordable independent living units for seniors 62 and older in the middle of a pleasant residential neighborhood. The 2.23-acre site will be located at 252 Grand Street, West bury, NY 11590. This beautiful energy efficient, senior only development is a mix of 60 one-bedroom units and 17 two-bedroom units. Each unit is outfitted with a washer, dryer, and additional linen and bedroom storage. The Homestead Senior Apartments includes a Community Facility with a community room, and mail room. Utilities include municipal water/sewer connections, gas heat and electric provided by PSEG. The Homestead Senior Apartments include 76 parking spaces for the exclusive use of the residents, 12 of which are designated as handicap-only spaces. In addition to parking, the grounds feature several seating and activity areas for residents to enjoy the exterior amenities.
