Details: Baranof Island Housing Authority purchased Monastery Elder Housing in 2001 to address the unmet housing needs of the elderly person(s) residing within the community of Sitka. The Monastery housing complex is located on Monastery St and Hollywood Way, and consists of twenty-four 1-bedroom, 1-bath units, each with a small kitchen and living area. An extensive renovation and energy efficiency upgrade was completed on the complex in 2009.
