Details: Cornerstone Community is a loving home for six adults with developmental disabilities. Cornerstone staff, volunteers and residents work to learn and embody the dignity of every individual, respect for self and others, diversity, community, joy and laughter, and service to others. Upper Valley MEND built the home that would become Cornerstone Community in 2011. When the buildout was complete, MEND turned the home over to a standalone 501(c)3 nonprofit with its own board, which now manages all aspects of the adult family home. Two seats on the Cornerstone Board of Directors are occupied by Upper Valley MEND representatives. This ensures an ongoing connection with Upper Valley MEND and stewards the community’s investment in the home’s structure into the future. Cornerstone is located on Detillion Road in Leavenworth.
