Details: Located in the heart of downtown Newport, across the street from Newport's City Hall and within walking distance of historic Thames Street, Americas Cup Avenue and Newport Harbor is West Broadway Associates. The building itself, located at 76 Broadway, is formerly the home of the Paramount Theater which opened in 1929 and served the community well until it closed in 1969. In the early 1980's the building was given new life when it was enlarged and developed into 52 apartments for elderly and disabled families. West Broadway Associates offers easy access to public transportation, and Newport's historic shopping and arts district are literally right around the corner. West Broadway Associates is also within walking distance to Newport Hospital, historic churches and a rich social support network. Located on the property, in our 16 commercial spaces you will find salons, restaurants, a medical clinic and a veterinarian. Just a short walk down the street you will find our 63 family housing units. Our 1, 2 and 3 bedroom family units are a charming mix of historic buildings and redevelopment. Some of our residents have lived in the same apartment for 25 years (and counting!). Newport is home to miles of scenic coastline ideal for breathtaking sailing excursions, relaxing beach time, and rejuvenating walks. Newport also offers tours of opulent mansions, interesting museums, and a number of walking tours that reveal the history and charm of the city.
