Details: Morning Star Housing, located in Moline, Ill., is co-sponsored by United Church Homes, Inc., and Disciples Uniting in the Quad Cities. It is professionally managed by United Church Homes. The community was financed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Section 811 Capital Advance program. DUQC Housing II NFP, Inc., owner of Morning Star Housing, is incorporated as a nonprofit organization. Morning Star Housing offers 14 one-bedroom apartments for qualified persons. Under the HUD Section 811 program, project eligibility may be limited to persons qualifying under a specific disability category. All 14 apartments of this property have been designed, and a preference will be given, for eligibility for rental to persons who have sustained a brain injury. Therefore, the head of household must be both (1) at least 18 years of age and (2) an individual who has sustained a brain injury, stroke, or neurological disorder.
