Details: E Komo Mai Apartments is a multi-family housing complex centrally located in Downtown Hilo. The project is comprised of two 3-story walk-up apartment buildings. There are 35 one-bedroom/one-bath units with approximately 494 sq. ft. living space and 10 two-bedroom/one-bath units with approximately 646 sq. ft. of living space. The property has on-site laundry facilities, a Site Office and a Community Room for tenant functions. Four of the units are ADA-accessible. A Resident Manager lives on site. In June 2011 the property was purchased by UHC 00525 Hilo, L.P. as a Low Income Housing Tax Credit property and completely renovated. Renovations included the installation of new kitchen cabinets & appliances, vinyl plank flooring, new interior doors, blinds in the living room and bedroom new bath vanity and toilet, re-roofing both buildings, painting the exteriors, installing ADA ramps, repaving both parking lots, upgrading the laundry room and the community building and equipping it with furniture, adding a barbeque in the picnic area, and landscaping.
