Details: Presley Woods is located in northeast Atlanta, in DeKalb County’s historic Kirkwood neighborhood. Opened in 1996, Presley Woods is a 40 unit apartment community specifically designed and built to provide affordable housing for 40 single, lower income adults. All apartments are fully furnished. Twenty units are designated for formerly homeless adults diagnosed with chronic mental illness though the Shelter Plus Care program and 20 units are designated for lower income residents through the Housing Assistance Program. The quiet tree-shaded common area opens to the units. The residents have use of the laundry facility, reading room and recreation room. On-site services are provided by Community Friendship Inc. with funding from the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Supportive services include case management, resource connections, transportation assistance and medication management. Thanks to a grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank, Presley Woods got a $1.0 renovation in 2013. The renovation included remodeled units, including energy efficient systems and new furnishings. 3Keys also received a grant from Invest Atlanta, which was used to purchase new furniture for all 40 units, as well as new furniture for the reading and TV room and lobby area.
