Comment from FruckADuk on 2014-12-15 20:46:50: The first apartment manager I came across in Aug. 2013 told me that residents have no more rights in HIS apartments than federal prisoners. I was about to get into the tub when the 'bug man' literally unlocked my door and pushed his way into my apartment, and I dared complain. The woman training the present manager hates certain religious groups and if you belong to one, she will restrict your movement. They will come in your apartment without any notice. I was in bed last week and the maintenance man unlocked my door, came in, peeked into my bedroom and told me it was a 'wellness' check. This is not an assisted living facility, it is NOT a hospital or nursing home where you can almost expect workers, nurses, etc. to come in all hours. The office has my phone number, they could easily call and check on me if they had a concern. I'm afraid for people who have kids that might get home ahead of them from school, and you don't know who will unlock the door and come in on them. In the elderly/handicapped building (not a nursing home, just the apartments are handicap accessible), stalking gangs of elderly residents that have nothing better to do than create hate environments, etc. exists and is allowed. They do allow certain pets with a doctor's statement saying it is needed, but, it may take weeks and weeks for them to get around to it. Keys to all the apartments are given to people at random, and have been left unguarded in the lobby. You are not allowed to block your door for safety, and sometimes, you hear people trying to unlock your door.
