Details: Vine Street Manor is a nonprofit 501c3, 202/PRAC Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded development located in Kansas City, Missouri. Because of our agreement with HUD, we accept applications from seniors age 62 and older, and seniors verified disabilities. Vine Street Manor opened its doors in 2006 with the goal of providing maintenance-free living for seniors. The vision was birthed by Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Vine Street Manor features a 60 unit low-rise apartment building with one–bedroom units; 4 handicap-accessible one-bedroom units. The entire development sits on one acre of land in the historic 18th and Vine district. The property is also conveniently located near Saint Luke’s Hospital and the Truman Medical Center. Our property site team has the professional skills and credentials required by the housing industry. “We Care” is not just our motto, but also the goal for our standard of operation which includes the following: Maintaining high compliance ratings; Extending the asset value of the property; Assisting residents to “age in place.” This means creating a place where our residents can live in their home safely, independently, and comfortably regardless of age or ability level; and Creating a residential community focused on our residents. Through continuing education and training, our property site team supports residents in their daily living. We also keep them engaged in the larger community by coordinating educational, cultural, and supportive programs and activities for their personal development. At Vine Street Manor, we believe in “Doing Better than Our Best” for our residents.
