Details: Alverno Apartments can be found nestled in a tranquil country setting just outside the Pittsburgh city limits in the neighborhood of Millvale. The six-story building consists of 52, one-bedroom apartments; each with an entryway, living and dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bath. The apartments offer a beautiful view of the tree-filled hillsides that surround the building. Inside, each unit boasts wall-to-wall carpet, window sheers and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. The residents enjoy weekly activities in the community room including bingo, cards and movies on the big screen television. An exercise group meets weekly. Some residents also gather for regularly scheduled prayers. Monthly socials are always an exciting time for residents. These events provide wonderful opportunities for everyone to gather and enjoy each other’s company in a fun and relaxing environment. One special benefit of living at Alverno Apartments is the entertainment programs provided by the children from the local Mount Alvernia Daycare and Learning Center. The smiles and laughter never seem to end. Other key features of the building include an attractive and reasonably priced laundry facility, computer/library room, patio area and large front porch. Public transportation is available nearby and provides easy access to stores, banks and shopping. Local pharmacies deliver drugs when needed by the residents. At Alverno Apartments, we are concerned with the residents’ overall health and wellbeing. Visiting nurses provide medical screenings and blood pressure checks. The yearly flu vaccination is available on site. Periodic visits by the Carnegie Library Bookmobile bring a library right to the apartment.
