Details: Weld Park is a three-story brick building designed for affordable senior living. The building sits near the middle of Roslindale, which is surrounded by West Roxbury, Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park and Mattapan. Downtown Boston is just down the road. Take a short bus ride or a 20 minute walk to the Forest Hills MBTA Stop, jump on the Orange Line, and you’re there. The 14 roomy apartments include 12 one-bedroom units and 2 studios. They have large windows and high ceilings; some even have skylights. There is an elevator and a laundry room. Tenants like to gather in the large, attractive lobby for socializing. Heat and hot water are included. Tenants pay electric. The neighborhood features many three-deckers and single-family homes on tree-lined streets. There are shops nearby. A very special bonus is the nearby Sherrin Street Woods, which offers a forested oasis classified by the Boston Conservation Commission as a large “urban wild.” And not very far away is the Arnold Arboretum, comprising 281 acres in Roslindale and Jamaica Plain and treasured by nature-lovers, horticulturalists and botanists.
